Default Help with new XP install..

im installing windows xp pro on my dell inspiron 600m and i get through the windows install fine but I cannot get my internet configured for the life of me. It will not detect my hardware no matter what drivers I have installed etc. it is driving me crazy. it is saying i do not have an adapter installed but i cannot work through that with the disks i have (DELL driver disks)?? thanks in advance for help!

try downloading drivers from dell's oficial web
