Post Trading Windows for A Mac

Im thinking of trading my windows system in for a mac.. I actually have two computers that have windows on them... so is this a good move, Most of the time I use web design, or microsoft office... and would it be a big change . The only other alternative I would have is linux, and I found linux to be somewhat enjoyable.

Well here is one huge advantage to having both OS's around for web pages.

You can debug for Several Browsers from one seat (If there set up close to each other)
I tend to run into an alignment problem with Safari and IE for PC

MAC has fewer crashes, and it’s great for multimedia.

I have several Friends who swear by the Mac for Video Editing and Sound Recording. And honestly I can’t argue with them it works brilliantly.

I would say go for a MAC

Its not as simple as this - be careful here:

why are you switching to mac? is it only for the novelty or for testing your apps/web designs on both systems?

What are the software that you use in windows? have you seen alternatives in mac? did u happen to check out how they function in a Mac? In my opinion, they are not too drastically different from Windows XP onwards. This si not to say Mac is evil, its quite userfriendly, but not worth the premium it commands.

The new MacBook Pro can be now dual booted with XP and MAC. definitely worth a try.

sorry for playing the devils advocate. just wanted to make sure u didnt miss anything.

Thanks for the feedback,
Well A friend of mine does graphic work, and he suggested I get a mack... I was constantly complaining of my pc freezing or crashing.. well not always. But he said for graphics a mac was good, and I could easily run dreamweaver as well and other graphics software.

If you are running Windows XP, the crases and freezes should be less. well, at leats thats the big idea - a lot dpeends on how you use the machine but i dont think i expected too many crashes on a regular XP machine (for me, its about once in a month, but i do meddle around with settings dirvers new apps and internet a LOT )

Graphics work is traditional Mac forte, where you have really nice and fast MAC apps. Be aware though, Windows you get more (cheaper) options.

Simplicity and Reliability are much better with Mac, and you wont ahve to worry abt viruses and trojans too much if u are going the Mac way.
