Default Windows Vista

You know what???

I installed the Windows Vista Beta, and to tell you all the truth... I was so NOT impressed!!!!

In my opinion... it's TOO USER FRIENDLY!!!

The graphics are kick ass, don't get me wrong, but all the menu driven configuration stuff just isn't for me. I prefer my old control panel with all the settings like that.

Does anyone agree with me?

I love the graphics, but come on. MS is just trying to follow in Apples footsteps, with a few variations here and there.

I wont be touching Vista for a while, at least until I see some REAL DX10 games come out and they aren't entirely buggy.

I agree and i'm definately not going to be using it on my machine until service pack 2 is released to make sure the major bugs are ironed out which will probably occur with a new operating system.

At least....

As far as I'm concerned, "transparent windows" isn't a reason to switch. and until the apps I actually use to make a living are all running 64 bit.... why bother f*cking with an OS that is still an ugly, buggy, bloated and badly designed version of a wannabe Mac? It's a sad, pointless waste of time.

Vista.... You can have it..... I'll hold off until I actually need it....

But I bet gamers will be the first adopters... games are dirt cheap.... not at all in the category of "we got a serious investment in established corporate software" here........ and until the transition to 64 bit is both of proven value and and bullet proof, we'll watch others bleed

I'm a gamer, and I defiently wont be using Vista... XP takes up enough space, just imagine what Vista will take up! Ridiculous! But, I do also design websites for businesses and personal websites... But, who knows maybe it'll be smaller than XP! But I still won't spend the $600 for another OS, because I already have 2!

Seriously, XP is FAT, and gets fatter with every update.... and as I've said before, if you want it to be nice.... you both have to prune it --and add 3rd party extras.... Plus In all the YEARS MS has been promising and stumbling towards VISTA I haven't read a single compelling reason to switch --just hype.... I see skinners trying to imitate beta's.... So that's how I know it's ugly and has Funky Interface Design....

I imagine--like the avian flu-- it'll start slowly infiltrating the population by being installed on new consumer machines made in China.... I don't see big time IT rushing out for this... Maybe.... but I don't think so.....

Hopefully, all this will kick the *nix /open source community into a higher gear..... with that -- and if Apple would just license OS X to run on non Apple Intel hardware (people are doing it now, on Thinkpads)...... we could get a LOT of the major end user apps.... and some motivated developers. ....

Then we could kill MS.... turn them into "aren't they the guys that make that overpriced MS Office Suite" as opposed to the"rulers of the PC Landscape".....

Redmond, WA.... would look like "Flint MI" after GM pulled out...

Unfortunately, It's probably just going to remain a beautiful dream

I'm not that excited for it, I may get it for Halo 3. But I can't afford an OS for like $400.
