Both of them are good, but I would have to say that I prefer Firefox due to the higher number of plugins, as well as the fact that it seems to run faster on my system.

I just use IE. I'm sick of screwing with opera and firefox, simply because they take space on my hard drive. I'm a minimilist and IE works just fine. I would rather use IE with the problems it has, than switch browsers for compatibility all the time.

SHOCKING(not) that MS put tabbed browsing into their IE7 browser...

Proving once again that MS is not only a copycat Company but not very original either. Show me something new MS...impress us.

the answer for me is very simple: Mozilla Firefox! i'm a tab fan, first i use opera but opera isn't free, firefox is free and freesoftware, it display all the website that use the w3c standart, its safer than IE, has a lot of plugins and that redfox logo looks pretty nice!

firefox has always been in my linux box but since i need to use IE on the site of my university i also use that browser (i installed it using ies4linux), but firefox is the real choice!

As most people I prefer Firefox over IE anytime, mostly because I can't live without tabs and it's just smoother and more stable.

I'd have to go with Firefox. Definitely seems more secure for newbie users who get infected with spyware and the like using Internet Explorer. Also a lot easier to customize with the vast amounts of extensions and themes available!

That said... from my experience, IE tends to start up slightly faster. Not very noticeable on modern machines, but on older laptops especially Firefox seems to take its time loading.
