Default Vista Premium -are they joking?

What is qualified as Vista Premium PCs by Microsoft (I guess it means that the OS will run):
- 1GHz processor
- 1GB RAM (!)
- 128MB, supporting 32bpp video card
- 40GB HDD (installation requieres 15GB!)
Full thread: microsoft.com/technet/windowsvista/evaluate/hardware/vistarpc.mspx
(Sorry, I couldn't spell the URL in the right way, because I still haven't made 15 posts)

I think Vista requires an almost new computer (specially if it's a laptop).
What do you think?

I think vista is a bit of a resource hog!!!

I personally think that if it requires so much from a computer, why bother? I mean, I could support it but it seems like the system would, well, bog down the system.

Its gonna get crushed by its own weight.

2 weeks??? No chance - I'll wait a good 6 months for the first service pack to come out before using it ... although I may have it on a pc to play with.

I'll let others iron out the bugs and security flaws ;-)

I don't believe microsoft will preinstall vista on computers for awhile.. technology hasn't gotten cheap enough to meet those requirements yet

I'm so depressed about Vista. M$ has dropped the ball big time. Who cares about a pretty paintjob if the shit don't run!
