Default Win Xp wont boot up.

Hi All.

I can't boot into my pc which has win xp sp 2. I did a virus/spyware check yesterday and found some spyware and a virus called Golden. But I thought my virus checker got rid of that. Today I tried to login to my pc and I get a blue screen saying perhaps I caught a virus or check my hard drive and make sure it's plugged in. Then said to run chkdsk /f. I tried everything along with f8 on startup and nothing worked. I also tried to login in safe mode, but nothing. Tried to restore last known setting and still nothing. I'm kinda new at this pc stuff. I'm no idiot but still a newbie at all this.
Lucky for me that I still have my notebook and home wireless network working. Could someone please help me out! Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Well i am not a system admin so can't tell you more but just would like to tell you that backup your useful data and reinstall your window and use antivirus like avast and i am sure that it would help you to prevent such kinds of problems in future.

Thanks.
