For general chit chat I tend to use hotmail. However, for business applications there are several open source solutions that you might consider.

As for experiences gmail is the best why ? for many reasons:
1- Gmail makes email easy and efficient. And maybe even fun.
2. Less spam. You don't like spam. Neither do we.
3-Gmail blocks spam before it gets into inbox .
5.Gmail's filter feature is the best in the business.

Yahoo has lots of space also and the account is good for tons of Yahoo services including fantasy sports. They have the edge on gmail as far as personalizing it I think.

I am using Gmail and I am very satisfied with their service. The best thing about this email provider is that you can customize everything and this helps a lot.

I would have to say Gmail. Yahoo has turned to crap with all the advertising, and their spam filters SUCK! More legit mail gets put in my spam folder while spam gets in my inbox! With gmail, it is the other way around.

I used hotmail, gmail and yahoo for too much time. hotmail=sucks / gmail=too pretty to be used / yahoo=too spamming. i used my own domain email address.
