Talking Layout Color? Template?

Right now, I am planning to make a layout, I don't even know how to start =\ I am using a Avril Lavgine image, should I use brown or dark blue or some dark colors or light colors like pink and light greem or lime?

How should I put the template? without columns (just put the iframe anywhere i want when its uploaded) or with it (two straight columns put on before uploaded)

Sorry if that sounded confusing..

Thanks,
Harmony

Bright colors like white would be more eye catchy.
But Dark colors are more easy on the eyes. You have to be very careful with your color combinations if you try to use a dark background.

Yes I know, its really hard to choose, i was thinking on just making it a normal pink, then the background a really lighter pinkish very light red-orange color.

Or the same way goes for a yellow-gray-brown combined to make one color.

It would also depend on the image as certain colors fit certain images. I always make the two colums in my graphic program. Then I code it using noteapd. Then i just save and refresh the browser so i can preview it without uploadin it anywhere. Then once I get it how I like it I upload it.

Whatever you do, don't use light colours like yellow or cyan for text.
It can be quite an eye sore.

I must agree with augustine, you should never use yellow for text or background for that matter, (i'm talking about bright yellow). Use like dark green or blue, because avril dresses up in dark clothes.. kinda matches the site.

o Avril Lavgine , r u making a fansite or somthing?
i dont particularly like white text on black backgroud! it just hurts my eyes

i like the idea of a 3 column layout, left for menus, center for content and right for polls/random pics etc.
