Clean and nice.
However, the navigation at the bottom of the dog breeds page is a little misleading.

colors are not to bad but the header is WAY to big it takes up half the screen!
i don't know about other people but a dog's site is always suppost to be white, a black dog site never takes off because its well too dark!

i recommend:
Make the site background a lighter colour! get that header at least half that size! green and yellow does look nice but adding brown is killing it! keep the footer that could be cool with a lighter background!

The design looks simple and good. What I want to suggest is to add more design to your logo instead of using a simple text to make it more eye-catchy.

Site is interesting, obviously you have a lot of tweaking to do, but I'm sure you will enjoy working on it to further enhance it.

Hey I would make the background colors lighter aswell as a better logo/header. Change up some of the text colors and you have a pretty good page.
