Default Hosting advice please!

Hi

I signed up to Web Fusion yesterday but when I was reading what was included in the package it didn't say you could only have one domain, or is that obvious because it's "shared hosting". I wanted to host a few other sites on here which I could do on a previous hosting package with 1and1.

Could anybody recommend Web Fusion because i'm thinking of cancelling my subscription with them - they said I would get the first year free and pay £19.99 start up costs and that hasn't happened.

I don't know a lot about hosting but i do feel i'm being a bit ripped off!

Also my website - www.hayleys-web design.co.uk is now down and I can't connect to their FTP to upload my website.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hayley

Hayley11,

Hosts should specify how many domains you can have. For example, we have two plans for shared hosting and we specify that on one plan you can have one domain and another plan you can have five domains. If they didn't specifiy and are now restricting you to only have one domain then you may be, unfortunately, out of luck. Be careful with us hosting companies, research is important. Is your site still down and how are things going with it?

Hiya

I did some research but I thought with web fusion giving the first year free there wasn't much risk. But they're not replying to any of my emails about getting the first year free.

My site is up now, it was down for a time yesterday, it probably goes down all the time without my knowledge. I seem to be getting a lot of hits but no customers so they must think i'm rubbish!!

What type of a plan did you sign up for? If you signed up for a single hosting plan with one domain, sounds like that's what you got. I'm wondering if you may have been looking more for a reseller plan? Your a web designer so that would make sense to offer hosting to your clients. Just a thought but maybe contact them and see if you can switch.
