I would like to know what is the best host out there.. there are so many fake review websites talking about startlogic, dot5hosting, hostmonster, hostgator... which one really is the best with fast servers and minimal downtime?

look dude...I really tried to use most of this stuff and I finally found Hostmonster

fast , unlimited , tried it more than once by me and by a friend , real live chat support they really help not just a button like other sites and I never logged into live chat and I found it offline Online all the time I hope you found this usefull Here You Go

Just my opinion but why can't people recommend a host without the need to include an affiliate link? Everybody knows that hosting is one of the biggest money makers in affiliate marketing so it just makes all testimonials look false.

I signed up with hostgator a few weeks ago.
They're running at about 99% uptime. I want to try others who might offer a better uptime.

@bfman: Try to have a look at sites like hostjury and WebHostingTalk. You will see less fake reviews there.

I Know The Owner Personally. I Don't Own The Site... I Don't Know If they Are Over Selling, but I Have PTC Sites That I Host On Their Server and They Take Up At Least 5 - 10 GB Of Bandwidth Per Month. I Have No Problems With 199 Hosting. Don't Judge Them Before You Know Them. I Could Buy 25 GB Of Storage From Certain Dealers For Around $4 - $9... So Just Because They Can't Make Their Money Back In The First Month Doesn't Mean They Aren't Real.

Hostigator Is A Scam... They Offer 3 TB Of Storage For $4.99! How In the world Can Anyone Buy 3 TB For Less Than $900.00? They Really ARE OVER SELLING...
