Arrow hosting hacked

Hi all,

I fund this article in the Internet, I think it is quite iteresting.

bigedu.org - free notes Hosting hacked

Are you concerned about your website being hacked? Safety against hackers is the typical thing that no hosting mentions but webmasters always seek desperately. Because the silent policy is the one chosen by corporations. "If nothing is said, everyone is good because it can't been proved the opposite".

It must also be like in an airplane: if someone shouts "THERE ARE NO BOMBS!!" everyone will panic and rush from their seats to the exit, because they heard the word "bomb". So hosting companies know that if they talk about security against hackers, even if it is good what they say, they will loose money.

As a result to this silent policy you have 98% of all the Internet's webmasters have never come across or seen a hacked site, and their only shield against it is that their pages have minimal or zero traffic, so they are not attacked because they are virtually out of the Internet. As they build up traffic this shield will get thinner and thinner until one day they will be hacked.

Some time ago the hosting of bigedu.org - free notes was hacked and as a result the page was damaged. You can still see the damage: the links at the bottom of the page. Since bigedu.org - free notes is an educational site and the belief is that knowledge should prevail above all, after analyzing all the damage done, it was decided to maintain the remains as a proof of what a hacked page looks like.

Just as parts of The Berlin Wall are left for people not to forget what happened there and to lecture next generations, we hope that these remains of the hack are useful to next generation webmasters.

The hope is for novel webmasters to know that hosting hack is real, that the Internet is unsafe, that hacker ethic many times doesn't apply, and that they need to actively spend time and effort in protection. Also webmasters should be sure to choose a good reputation hosting recommended by experts or trusted PC magazines.

Moreover, time after the damage the real message of the links at the bottom of the page seems something like "look how shameless we are that we flooded a modest educational website with links to gain page rank to fill our pockets, instead of gaining page rank as a result of our good services".

If you know someone who is running a page, send them this text and let him know what corporations don't want him to know. Let him see how dangerous “Internet waters” can be, let him have a look at the "links wall of shame" at bigedu.org - free notes
