Question about readyhosting.com and uploading my index.html file

hello!

total noob here. First time on a webmasters forum.

I have created one site before

Dysfunctional Sound Productions

and did another one with some help from iWeb.

ANYWAYS.. I am helping a friend out and can't figure out how to upload the index.html file on readyhosting.com so that's the page it goes to when site address is entered.

I got to the server with my ftp client and i have a stats folder. thats it.

When I upload my index file and go to the url, I get an error message..

ilovefrill.com

how do I do it, never had an issue with GoDaddy.

You have to upload your index.html file to the public_html folder.
Have you done that?

When I fire up my ftp client to the server, I only have a "stats" folder with nothing in it.

When I go to the site, there is an "under construction" page that pops up, and I can't even find that file and/or folder. Like I said, only a "stat" folder is there.

Can I make a folder that is public_html and place it in there? Should there already be an index.html file there for the "under construction" default page?

If you open your FTP client, you will see about 25 folders.

One of them will be "public_html" or "www".

If you don't see them, contact your host's support team.

cool. yea there is only 1 folder names "stats"

I'm gonna call them and see what's up.

Everything is good. There apperently was an issue with their server but now it's up!
