Clean (Virus Scan, Delete unnescessary files, Clean history)
Arrange Your files
Remove all unused software or programs
Defragment your computer at least 2 times a month.

A lot of the substance as a space only advice is to clean your registry to get a registry editor or cleaner to make your PC faster.

I recommend you format your computer. Backup important files to a spare HDD or USB's or something and then format your computer. You will notice a better response time as your computer isn't cluttered up anymore.

Also regular maintenance like defragmentation is requires to keep your computer's "speed" consistent.

What I do on computers that run slow is I use RegistryFix to clean out the registry - cleans out all the old and unused files.
