Smile Can you recommend a monitor?

Hi,
I was just wondering is someone could recommend a monitor for me to buy, I have a budget of up to $700. I would prefere a CRT as i'm not too keen on LCD, the highest resolution possible at the moment would be nice and if it has a 16:9 aspect ratio it would be perfect.

Any advice is appreciated
Thanks
Guts

Go with an LCD with a budget like that. I used to be a CRT guy as I'm in to gaming, but if you get a nice viewsonic 19" LCD at that price you will be more than happy with the frames per second.

I have 2 Samsung 19" LCDs (SyncMaster 191T). Samsung has great contrast ratios and a good reputation for quality (from my own research). I've had them over a year and they've been great. I do video post production and Photoshop work. I'd recommend them to anyone. And they were around $700 a piece when I bought them. So they must have come down now.

definately check out the dell monitors, they are extremely well priced for what you get. check out www.dell.com/ucsc (school website) for even better student deals whether or not you are student.

I think you should rethink your stance on LCDs. With that kind of budget you could get really nice widescreen LCD. The picture is sharper and there is much less glare on an LCD monitor.
