Default Norton!

Norton sucks, I don't like it, I think BitDefender does a better job at keeping people out! I have had only one problem with a trojan since it has been on my comp. But with norton, I had many problems! But if you want to use Norton, try the 2005 Internet Security, that worked the best for me out of any other one!

I assume you are talking about a firewall.

I recommend Zone Alarm, its free and it has kept all threats out of my PC. Even when someone try hacking into my other laptop.

i really like McAfee. i used to use Norton but i never really noticed it doing or finding anything, i slowly watched my pc lag more and more to the point where i would have to write 0s to the drive! with McAfee...i have not had a single problem yet! though McAfee tends to eat up resources more than another anti virus/firewall system.

I agree that bitdefender is way better than norton, but when scanning for viruses, it takes too long and slows down my laptop and causes lots of hangs

I've had problems when I tried that program but maybe taht was just my bad luck.

I used to work at a place where I would do a lot of virus and spyware removal for people, and I saw some crazy things (mainly, the sheer number of spyware and infected files that some of these people had)

I've always had pretty good sucess in ridding a computer of viruses/spyware with a couple programs used together

SpySweeper I found to be really good (make sure to update it and then run it in safe mode)
Avast (same deal)
AVG (same deal)

There are a couple viruses that just dont want to leave sometimes. At that point I would just recommend doing a recovery (reformat).

Norton I found needed to much RAM and slowed computers down. Mcafee I found didn't catch everything and I saw many cases of the program getting corrupted.

I think NOD32 is the best solution for anti virus. It uses very low resources so the performance of the PC doesn't affect.

NOD 32 is the best solution for anti virus. It uses very low resources so the performance doesn't get affected by it.. And for Firewall, I personally recommend Agnitum OutPost firewall..
