Pixel2Life.com has some good tutorials, Tutorialized.com is another good one.

Amenda, I'm not sure his answer is to have someone else do all of his work for him. That said, the best thing you can do for him is to recommend tutorials that ensure he learns to the best of his capabilities.

Murcielago, I think some of the members in this thread have gotten it completely right. For one, the best way to begin learning is to use Adobe's built-in tutorials as said earlier in the thread, and to make sure you get a feel for the interface and the location of everything. Then, I would recommend Pixel2Life.com (thanks to Fry) and Good-Tutorials.com as well; two very good tutorial sites.

I also have a PDF file of Photoshop keyboard shortcuts (Windows) that I will try to dig up. I'll update the thread when I find it.
