Myself?

I only do frontend and I stick to the same ol programs.

Dreamweaver 8
Flash 8
Photoshop CS2
Illustrator CS2

really that's it!

On the server side I use move-able type and Oi! for news posting and email blasts. I think we are switching to WordPress though.

Does anyone use anything different?

Can you recommend any good software?

I busted out notepad or textedit back in the day with photoshop 5 (stuck with that one for a long while!)

I have used Go Live, i didn't feel comfortable working with it for some reason. But it was part of my arsenal.

well for standard HTML and site script I use

Notepad

and for design I use sometimes a flash program called koolmoves wich is not very good but since right now I don't have money to afford something like flash 8 I'm using koolmoves instead and that's it for CSS and PHP I just write all the script on notepad and for javascript I use another freeware called webmaster tools

What is Xara Xtreme?

I did some fireworks in school but never got the hang of it (which is unfortunate), though I never really got the hang of Illustrator and use it in the most basic ways.

Xara Xtreme, is almost like photoshop, you can use most of the plugins photoshop uses, do the same things all for 500 to 600 dollars less.
