I do believe Dreamweaver is pretty much a standard for page building so I'd probably start learning it if you have an interest in this kind of stuff.
I was never a fan of frontpage and used notepad instead to create sites. Download the dreamweaver trial version to get a feel for it (
Macromedia - Dreamweaver 8)
but I'd presonnally recommend using it (again, that is if you want to pursue this field)
It's a big program though, I'm quite certain I only use 10% of what it can actually do. I mainly use it because it's easier to look at longer code, highlights mistakes and such, and I can see what the page sorta looks like in the split view.
As far as ease of use. For a very basic site I think it's pretty easy. Again, I'd try that trial version and maybe look up a tutorial on the net.
