Frontpage is dead. If you are interested in it, you might want to check the Expression Web by Microsoft, but I would stick with Dreamweaver anyways.

I am going to go with Dreamweaver here. This is one of the topics that tempted me to join.

Frontpage was the program we were coaxed into using throughout school. It was horrible (at that point); just looked like Microsoft Publisher with a horrible 4.01 Loose output. Dreamweaver is a very strong program; for its faults (generally slow interface, flaws with validation and standards-compliance) it is worth using for sure. It has a brilliant built-in FTP system which maintains the tree structure and helps you troubleshoot any uploading issues.

Other elements I like are the colour-coding (for more effective spotting of coding errors, closing tags, etc) and the local site function it offers. Dreamweaver 8 all the way.

I am a newbie at web design and find frontpage to be really easy to use. i have played a little with dreamweaver and see that it is a much better program. When I have more time, I will definitly learn dreamweaver better. Also, PHP webpages are not easy to work with in frontpage, you need to install some extra stuff to make them work, but dreamweaver handles them with ease right out of the box!
