Default RE: Logo in URL - How to?

Some web sites have a logo appear in the URL , e.g British Broadcasting Corporation and http://www.google,co.uk ! - (at least in IE 7 it does).

How do you add/change the logo in front of the "http://".

Thanks for any replies.

That is a favicon icon.

What is a favicon?
Favicon (pronounced fav-eye-con) is short for 'Favorites Icon.' A Favicon is a multi-resolution image included on nearly all professional developed sites. Within Internet Explorer the Favicon is displayed on the Address line and in the Favorites menu. The Favicon allows the webmaster to further promote their site, and to create a more customized appearance within a visitor's browser. Often, the Favicon reflects the look and feel of the web site or the organization's logo.

interesting. i knew it was called a favicon (the way it's wrote) but i didn't know it's pronounced fav-eye-con.

here's a good favicon validator from the same site: FavIcon from Pics -- favicon.ico for your website
