how to make left nav bar resize to 100% of page

hi,

i am currently rebuilding our company website. i have it set up so that it resizes to 100% of the width of the window, but i've tried various setups with tables and i can't get it to resize to 100% of the height.

the reason i want to do this is that some pages will have more content than others, and the ones with a lot of content willl extend downwards to accomodate it, and i want the nav bar to remain on the left and go right to the bottom of the browser window.

any advice on how to do this.

Use javascript to scroll the nav bar set along with the page. I think dreamweaver 8 has a scroll snippet included. I'm not sure since I don't use snippets from dreamweaver.

i would strongly suggest using CSS... i know its a little intimidating but its honestly not that hard and I'm sure there is alot of templates out there and tutorials.. google it and be amazed!!
