Default Video format?

I'm working on a site that will host a series of 5-10 minute long video clips but I'm not too familiar with the current standard for video on the web.

I was planning on just embedding a quicktime player, but more people are telling me to go with flash video... soo..

Quicktime or Flash?

and what is the best way to create a .flv? The video is being edited in Final Cut Pro, if there's a plugin to save directly to .flv that'd be sweeeeet, but if that's not available, does anyone know of a dropplet or something similiar that will do it? The goal here is to make the video as easy as possible to get on the web, and for as many poeple as possible to be able to view it without a problem.

Thanks!

Flash gets my vote. I refuse to install Quicktime on my PC. It's simply too bloated for my tastes. I use Media Player Classic to play quicktime files on my PC but it doesn't function as a browser plugin.

Flash would seem like the more widely used option.
