Default Best E-Commerce Solution?

I just set up a copy of osCommerce and I hate it, sloppy as hell. Is that the most popular? Seems like every e-commerce package I try doesn't quite hit the spot. Does anyone of any suggestions for something that's just super clean and easy for a client to maintain?

Thanks!

As silly as it sounds im a fan of the Yahoo Store, With the help of solid cactus for design and features i think it works great. Solid Cactus isnt the cheapest but they have great customer service.

Thanks Snapple!

I'm not really digging the url change to yahoo's site. I'd much rather keep everything kind of in-house.

Is there any reason NOT to use osCommerce?

Personally i have no reasons, just sounded like you were having problems with it. In regards to the URL change set a foward so there is no URL change .

I like it cause its simple and easy. I can designate people to retrive orders and assign people to modify the page and you can put all your items and info into a database and then just upload the images and CSV file and its done that simple.

I love the way it works for me

With oscommerce,
a person needs to be knowledgeable of html and php. There are many variables that need to be assigned. from ssl to virtual terminal or card processor, picture sizes',shipping, returns, etc. It does help to read up on news and information and what other oscommerce users are doing at: forums.oscommerce.com/

Yeah I can set up an oscommerce, it was a major pain, and it has a funky control panel that makes it hard to add attributes (alteast the way this client needed them). Doesn't sync up to Quickbooks or anything, and to change the appearance of the thing, a lot of the time you have to go into the actual coding of the shopping cart.

I have no problem continuing to use it, I've just been out of the loop for a while and was curious if there was a new cool full-funtion ecommerce solution out there.
