Default photoshop cs2 problem

Hello, i just recently got a copy of photoshop 9.0 cs2. The thing is, when i try and open the program, a splash screen comes up and freezes when it gets to the part that says "looking for preferences". Any suggestions on what i can do?

Hm, interesting...

Can you please post your system specs? Do they match the required specs?

Have you loaded any plug- ins? If so, how many is plugins? Be aware that too many plug ins will slow down the start up time.

It might help if you can post a snap or write down the last message before it freezes.

I am assuming that you were patient enough to wait for at least 5 mins for the splash screen to go away

This sounds it might be virtual memory issue. Maybe not enough space to cache the data. Does it blue screen when this happens? It actually sounds like you just don't have enough memory in the system to handle the prog.

Nope i got it to work, I had to reinstall, and when i reinstalled it asked me if i wanted to keep my preferences or if i wanted to clear them and i cleared them so that when it reinstalled it would reset my prefs... But thanks for the help. I just recently got another 80 gig hard drive so i have plenty of space.

Thanks
