Default Should I use images or text?

I'm designing a webpage for a construction company. I wanted to make some buttons using icons but I'm not sure if I should make a regular text button or go for an image. I tried looking up some graphics online and I found these construction icons could be useful, since they have disabled and hot states too. I wanted to know your thoughts before I purchased them I can't share the site design yet, but I would still love to know what would look better on a website, graphic buttons or to create some text links.

I like icons, just make sure that they fit within the grand scheme of the site.

Use of more icons on links would not be beneficial for the website SEO, hence to make site looks attractive you can use the same, but within those images don't forget to place "ALT Tag" for each and every images you have used.
Still i suggest you to go with text links.

If you're going to use images as your main navigation use a text-replacement method like text-indent: -9999 in your style sheet. This is for both SEO reasons as well as basic accessibility reasons.

I would think it depends on how user-friendly the site would be. Maybe you should test one or the other?

Accessibility is EXTREMELY important, people don't like it when you alienate them from your website, so fnacotton has the right idea.

Images are fine by the way, as long as they aren't too big.

Maybe I'll go for the text. Because personally, text is more user friendly than images. But images attract more,

Or you can use both.... as long as it gives the viewers/users an ease navigating through your website...
