Default Creating animated gifs -for free

I would like to learn to make animated gifs as a hobbie not a profession. Does anyone know of some freeware or shareware thats easy to learn with decent results for making banners.

Thanks much

It's not free, but I use Ulead GIF Animator. I got it free with a hosting account a few years ago, I think it's probably like $19.95 or something. It pretty much walks you through everything, there's not much of a learning curve.

yes, there are literally hundreds of tutorials on that site. They are very helpful. Good-tutorials is also very helpful as well. I definitely suggest working on those... I like fireworks and imageready personally so I can get by using either one... you have to be flexible somtimes
