I prefer using DreamWeaver too! It's better from FrontPage and it's not Microsoft! Remember also that Macromedia has invented Flash

Like with everything it is good to understand the fundamentals. I started back in 1999 using the tutorials found here http://www.pagetutor.com/. I would advise having a sound understanding of html before using either frontpage, dreamweaver or others.

Try out a few different types of editors and see which one would suit you better.
Some people like complex programs with tons and tons of features, some prefer short. simple and sweet.

Depends on what sort of a person you are

Dreamweaver by far. I started with that, wouldn't have it any other way!

Go for Dreamweaver 8. It is by far the best and it industry standard these days. it will be easier to learn and you will get top support for it.

I don't use an editor but if you insist on using one, I'd recommend Dreamweaver over FrontPage. I've just heard lots of cases where Frontpage screws your page up, so overall Dreamweaver is definitely better.

I prefer Frontpage over Dreamweaver. I first started on 'friendpages' though, and then I eventually went to Geocities pagebuilders (as we all did.)

I'm not sure as I started learning from scratch. Although I have heard some very great reviews on Dreamweaver. I have heard that it is very beginner friendly. All I could say is try them both and see what works well for you.

If not I suggest DreamWeaver too

Coding in notepad is my starting point in web developing, there I memorize all html tags and ASP methods and functiionality..
for a beginner i suggest you use this as a good training ground in HTML..
In designing, well I guess its frontapage. its more user friendly

I suggest Dreamweaver 8 to get started, but you should try to learn to code and do all that html and php yourself.. It is better to learn then hoping a program will do it for you, but Dreamweaver is good =D
