Default iframes - Best Choice or Not?!

I am building a web site with an FAQ page. For doing this FAQ page I am planning to use iframes. I thought of going with iframes because one iframe would help me finish this whole job. However, I hear that people don't usually prefer using iframes. Why is this? I would like to know the drawbacks associated with iframes. Also, can anyone suggest an equivalent technology that I can use to complete my FAQ?

Well i don't know about others but i am not a fan of iframes they are not that useful unless you are only using html, now a days with ajax and php there isn't much that you can't do if you are a beginner i recommend going to a scripts site and just downloading a FAQ system that you can integrate into your website and get full support.

there are hundreds of systems with a free FAQ script on there site and its easy to control!

Before spending hours trying to create your own FAQ give a script a chance it saves time!

p.s. remember to only integrate scripts into a demo version of your site before adding it to your real site just in case anything goes wrong!

Iframes are generally not search-engine friendly which is the main reason people don't use them.

I have a hard time thinking of of a good reason to use an iframe - you could just put the content in a fixed height div with and set it to "overflow: scroll" in the css to get a similar effect without the problems with iframes like SEO unfriendliness, analytics issues, usability, etc.
