A lot of blackhat SEO people employ the hidden text technique. Sometimes it helps but search engines really know better. Google especially is after fresh content everyday. Putting new content and updating stuff (and pinging them) shows how intelligent google is in indexing only useful stuff for readers online.

I don't know if they still do it but years ago it was common practice for the search engines to ban those sites using hidden or same colored text. They looked at it as an attempt to hack the algorithm so to speak so they got tired of it, not to mention, back then a large majority of the sites using the tactic were adult oriented sites trying to get listed under every word they could think of..........that's pretty much ancient history stuff now adays though :-)

Thanks for the info. The 10 search engine positioning mistakes is said to be a black hat technique or neither a gray hat technique. Another is "spamming" , which you submit your link to a different website or submitting duplicate content.

It is a great lists and it is the mistakes that usually done by the SEO like me. Usually I put too much keywords on my blog that cause "keyword stuffing". But I think I need to correct my mistakes.

I doubt they ban anymore, I think they just lower your rankings.

That is much crueller since you may never figure out why your site is so hard to find

If they banned it you'd know you did something wrong.
