Default Hey fellas I need some real advice/help

I've created a site gotten listed in all major search engines I've got top billing with a multitude of "catch phrases" or "key words" I've got tons of content, info, you name it you'll find it somewhere within my site (over 30 pages) I've got over 130 "back links" yet I'm really seeing no serious increase in traffic flow. I've done all the basics & more so how can i increase my traffic on a minimal budget? Please don't hold back, shoot it to me straight & Hold the b.s please.. I'm not really interested in some increase your traffic by 600% for only $99.99 kind of crap... I CAN do this & I will I'm just asking for a little info maybe theres something I'm missing or forgetting.. Keep it real... THANKS

Helping others might make you feel good so what the hay.... Hay???

LOL Chain Saw, I'll give it to you straight...

Well it sounds good what you have so far, but here is the question. Do you want traffic or conversions??

It’s all about your target audience.

What pages are those 130 back links on? Are they relevant to your site?

Also your site really has no focus, its everywhere. Personally i would leave your site because every time i click a link a new window opens.

You have pictures of your family?? Why???

Did you create a business plan before creating this site? I seriously think the site is lacking definition and direction and that is why traffic is lousy

ouch.. that was a little ruff but ok I can fix the things you've mentioned my family's pictures are there for a sort of personal touch and I have a lot of relatives that visit the site, they asked that i post some so... I mean it is supposed to be a "family" site.. apparently you find that offensive?

I want traffic & conversions..

What do you mean by lacking definition and direction each link is clearly marked for going in a very specific direction weather its pets, kids, animation or whatever...

If you read any book about starting a web site they tell you the first thing to do is make sure they stay on your site by making everything open in different windows. Is this wrong than??

I'm confused about what you say is a lack of focus?? My target audience is the entire family.. Something for everybody you know... And its all very plainly spelled out.. How can I make it any more focused?

Of course not all but a large percentage of the back links are very relevant to my site.

The site hasn't even been up for a month yet & were getting 30 to 50 new visitors a day, which is more than I expected..
By posting here I was asking about how to skyrocket the traffic on a budget and not so much of the pick the new guy apart for all his hard work kinda stuff..

At any rate I appreciate your insight and I'll make the appropriate changes....

Do a bit of reasearch on google, msn, yahoo for the most popular searches. Take a look at what others are searching for then develope content around those things. Update your sitemaps, keywords, and page descriptions.

If you are dedicated to a certain TYPE of site or subject, find forums and blogs that concern that subject and make meaningful posts there. Include your URL in your signature.

Once traffic starts to build, think about placing a forum package on your site. Net users like to have places where they can offer an opinion or advice then come back and check the replies.

Starting your own blog and syndicating the RSS feed is another way to get your site more exposure.

And, as you already know, place your URL everywhere you can! I got lots of room for more links at my search engine!

I would look at simplifying your site. Links that LEAVE your page could always open new window, but links within your site shouldn't be that distracting.

i laos don't really know what your site is about from the url or hitting the main page so its better to focus like others have said.

Thumbs up Re: Hey fellas I need some real advice/help

Site has very nice design....

Links that point to your site should definitely open IN THE SAME WINDOW (there are exceptions ofcourse...which dont apply tooyur website )

You can add an "about us" page, because I got a bit confused what the site was about seeing links to all sorts of stuff...and may be also explain to us the website title...that would give a personal touch

Great Work...Good Luck,
Mahmoud Ibrahim

I personally hate websites that open pages in new windows as well. Such things should only be used when absolutely necessary.
