Under google sitemaps tools, a few sites I have just created this past week have been indexed and given a low page rank on all of the pages.

However, the google tool bar still says 0.

Is googles toolbar only updated quarterly, or is it the sites as well and is the page rank meter under google webmasters/sitemaps accurate?

The Major one PR is which is on the sitemaps and things are usually updated quarterly, Personally i dont use the google toolbar but i know there is some difference between the two. It's usually lower than the actual page rank

PR is such a red herring. It is of importance, however, if you intend to market your site as an extra few PR can mean a lot of linking power. In other words the more PR you have, the more likely quality sites are going to link with you.
