Is there any point in trying to optimize your site for the search engine AskJeeves? It is so sparcely used that it might not even be worth trying, but I think I might be able to get good placement there, but it would cost me a good amount of money. Do you think it's worth doing it?

I find that if you do well in google, yahoo, msn you'll do okay in ask jeeves as well.

Hi,

Ask Jeeves maintains two search engine databases, one database of sites indexed by their spider, and one database of sites submitted through their paid listing service. Being listed on other major search engines and directories, and having links back to your site will lead to being spidered and listed by Ask Jeeves. So, I would not bother wasting your time on an seo campaing to get listed at Jeeves.

I see... so as long as you get ranked good on Google or something, you will get ranked good on Jeeves (as well as some other search engines, I would assume). I never knew that, thanks angie.

never do really focus on ask jeeves, just the major 3 (google, yahoo and msn)
No other SE can give me more traffic
