Default Directory Submission

Directory Submissions are a great way to improve your SEO. But I have a question; how many directories do you need to submit your site to in order to see a good difference in your page rank? I submitted my site to over 75 but I don't think it moved up even one spot. I think you need to submit it to over 200, and that is when you start seeing results.

merely depends on the PR of directory.
Not all directories are good to submit to, there are still many directories tha are like link farms.
They do not want a link back, and google doesnt like this kind of site.
If i were you, Ill try to submit to those reputable direstories

It depends on the PR of the page where your listing is found. Some directories have high PR on the main page but their listing pages have lower PRs usually or 0 in some cases.

Also, be sure that the directories you are submitting to are search-engine friendly and are not using redirects or nofollow links.

I submitted my site to about 150 directories but the PageRank stayed at zero. Those directories accepted my site and they were all like PR4 but my page rank is still at 0.

This is correct. The PR toolbar tells you the PR at the last time it was updated. Actual PR is classed as everflux (meaning that it is changing all of the time). I'm not sure how often the toolbar is updated but I have noticed it can take weeks (and sometimes months) between changes.
