what is the best usage for SEO:

http://www.domain.com/categ/date/ (just an example)

or http://categ.domain.com/date/....... (just an example)

? i need to know

In my opionion, http://categ.domain.com/date/ is best for SEO. The other way could include any url with the same domain. The odds of your url showing up on result page is better for this sort of link.

ill go for subdomain I thinks it better than the foldering path

I agree using subdomains has more weight on SE than using folder paths. But not advisable if your having multiple pages.

subdomain is the best if you want to increase your page rank.But actually it is the combination of the two.OK!

I think you should go for subdomain if it a part of a site like a directory. Besides it has greater weight on SE.

google should pick up on both, but for clarity and just keeping the url short I wouldn't use either, just make a www.domain.com/date/ folder and that'd fix the url problem.
