Default changing host

will this have a big impact for the current rankings with the site for its main terms?

How would chnaging host affect you?
The content would stay the same right? Unless of course Google blck certain IP addresses and their IP is listed.

If there is no major downtime there should not be a problem.

I don't think it will affect much. Unless you are chnaging the terms itself.

Wouldn't affect expect you change domain but if you do this you can forward the visitors from old adress to your new one

It should not affect your current rankings or anything. Just don't change your dns for your domain until your new host has setup your account and you have uploaded all your sites content. Once that is in place then you can change your domain dns settings to point to your new host name servers. This way you do not experience any downtime.

But wouldn't the change in DNS also give you a short downtime until it resolves?
But short sparks of downtime should have much effect
