My site has disappeared from rankings on google?

Well for a few weeks now my site has been at around position 12 on google for my specific keywords. I noticed yesterday it had a date of 10-15-2005 next to my url. Now today my site has disappeared.

I did do some minor changes to the homepage- title, a few text lines but nothing major. Will my site return or have I been removed from the index?

Sometimes when they are doing the updates, our PRs and positions will jump or disappear.
And since we expect another update to be around the corner, maybe you can wait a while before seeing what happens.

Okay - i see now what's going on. The results seem dodgy. I checked again this morning when I got up and it was back. Now I check at lunch time 6 hours later and it's gone again. So I guees I can take you advise and be patient to wait it out. thanks

Means what I thought is right... Do keep us updated if you can on your site status
Hopefully Google does not drag the update.

yeah google may just be updating, it is long overdue.

what's your url and I'll take a look at it for obvious bad signs if any.

your right PrivateInvestigator... G! is under going update... and they call it Jagger update..
You know, I do feel sad coz Ive look in the other data centers and theres no update on my site PR...
Its sad coz Ive been expecting an update this october.. and unfortunate to find out that theres no update going on in my site

aww, you've got the same problem as me, google's playing silly buggers. Check the cache google has of your webapge and see if it's recent.

Still vanished - and google cache is recent "as retrieved on Oct 29, 2005"

I've got the excat same problem, my cache is as recent as the 29th.

this is a major bummer man.
