Default question on <h1> tags?

will google ban your sites if they found you are using more than 1 <h1> tags?

Is it just fine if you put 3 <h1> tags on one page?

I think google see's an h1 as a main heading and other headers as sub titles. I only use one h1 per page on my site mainly to let google determine the main topic of the the page.
