Default Who's the 2nd and thrd best search engines?

Everyone says that google is no1.

But who's no 2 + 3?

I think yahoo.com (now own overture.com as well) and MSN.com are the next best.

But look at other search engines like searchy.com and blinx.com

I do not know the most used but I am always doing seo work to my sites to meet the demands of:

1. Google
2. Yahoo
3. MSN

I know you can't cater to all three and have high rankings but I beleive there may be a happy medium.

It would be interesting to see how the various engines rank statistically, but gathering statististics like that would be a monumental task. Allstocks.com, whatever the heck that is (just did a quick Google) has there own rankings. I do not know what the criteria they used for their rankings is.

Allstocks.coms list of search engines. They are listed in order of popularity. Thank you for using Allstocks.com.

google.com
yahoo.com
lycos.com
nbci.com
netscape.com
excite.com
iwon.com
altavista.com
looksmart.com
about.com
go.com
msn.com
goto.com
go2net.com
dogpile.com
directhit.com
gohip.com
search.com
bay9.com
clickheretofind.com
found404.com
hotbot.com
webcrawler.com
metacrawler.com
37.com
mamma.com
goclick.com
best20sites.com
megago.com
northernlight.com

There were more, but who cares?

I must admit, I don't use too many other search engines besides Google, but I'd have to say #2 is Yahoo, and #3 is MSN.

It depends on ones region or location, msn is second in UK and some Europian country. It depends on SE's advertising or marketing strateies. Its services may differ also in other country

In my opinion: G, Y and then MSN. The rest you can skip.

What about lycos? I remember when they had a big advertising campaign and good search results and now they don't advertise on UK TV or have good search resuts anymore.
