Script / software like secondlife

Iam looking for some software script that is like secondlife. I want to create something simular but need a script or some software to get me started?

Any ideas would be greatful.

Also does anyone know much about patenting software...does it exist?

A script like second life?! A script like that cant just be found floating around the web. Second life is a very complex game* and it isnt really a script, nor software..and you certainly couldnt get it off the web.

* It is a game to some people, not to others as It involves real money, I have sold various things myself
