Myspace on my site

Ok, so I was thinking to have something similar to a Myspace on my own site (in my username, can't yet post links). I know there is a way to do it via CGI however I am unfamiliar with it. I posted here to see if there is already a script for this somewhere in the vast internet. Google seems to not show up anything. I know only enough CGI in order to run formail for feedback on my site, and I would assume it is something similar but it is posted on the site in a directory. Here's my ideal layout for this:

-Home page for "profiles" which automaticly adds profiles as people create them in links to their own page
-Search bar for searching for people
-Each person has one page, similar to myspace, where they put anything they want on it including images
-An email program, monitorable, that allows to email back and forth between users

It sounds like a lot of work, could anyone give me a head start on this? Links to articles are nice.

I thank you all for your suggestions but however I do not have the resources for this program, I was thinking using Perl to make some CGI scripts, and I have begun to teach myself Perl.

I don't think there is anything wrong with using phpfox. I think it may be a similar problem that see with phpnuke. It get's a lot of negative responses. But it's really because they make it so easy for people with limited webmin or php knowlege. It's generally poorly implemented and not kept up.

I don't think there is anything wrong with php either....However their support very suck, also cost $300 to buy a license and $39 to rent?. Not to mention the latest version is encode?

I am not good with php but when i sort through their script there are many mistake .. just an opionion
