W(indows)AMP, L(inux)AMP, M(ac)mp.

Generically it's called a LAMP stack if you don't care which environment it's running in (because you generally don't).

WAMP is an acronym formed from the initials of the operating system Microsoft Windows and the principal components of the package: Apache, MySQL and one of PHP, Perl or Python. Apache is a web server.

LAMP The exact combination of software included in a LAMP package may vary, especially with respect to the web scripting software, as PHP may be replaced or supplemented by Perl and/or Python. Similar terms exist for essentially the same software suite Anning on other operating systems

They are acronyms for a specific setup

(W)indows (A)pache (M)ysql (P)hp

(L)inux (A)pache (M)ysql (P)hp

basically the foundation for your web server.
