Default How do you test PHP page offline?

Is there a way of checking if your php page is working on your computer, by not uploading on to the server to test?

Yes, download xampp and you're away really - it comes with PHP, MySQL and phpmyadmin.

One note, if you're using seo friednly urls, you may run into issues getting them running locally. There are few thing you need to do get rewrite rules running locally in xampp - namely, setting your RewriteBase correctly.

You need to install a webserver with php module to compile your php files.

I recommend you to use Apache or Lighthttpd you can also find packages like LAMP(*nix), XAMPP (*) or MAMP (Osx - i love this!)

I use WAMP in wimdows and MAMP on macintosh. It includes Apache, MySQL and PHP so you can run PHP pages and databases locally on your pc.
