Default PHP in HTML Help request

Hello...

This is my first post to this forum. I have been a webmaster for 12 years and even taught webmastering at college, however this is the first instance where I have not been able to figure out an issue on my own, even after investing a great deal of effort to that end. I am out of my element when it comes to PHP, so I am hoping I might find some guidance here.

I run an online radio station and the radio service recently provided PHP code to display when your station is on or off. Here's the PHP code:

<?php
include 'h-t-t-p://87.171.917.154/onoff.php?radio_id=623709';
?>

[Note: I added the hyphens at the beginning only because the forum interprets the http portion of the PHP code as posting a URL to another site. Additionally, the IP and ID are not valid and used here for example purposes only.]

I created a PHP file of the code and uploaded the PHP file to my site server.

What I am unable to figure out is the HTML code I need on my website to show the the results of the PHP regarding my station being on or off.

Thank you very much!

I would need more info on the actual site to know what is returned and in what format.

I apologize, but I do not understand what you are asking.

I wish to know what HTML code I need to use to get on or off to display on a web page or blog based on the PHP code I posted.

That's all the information I have. Thank you.

The code you have includes that page into your webpage. If the page is returning xml, json or rss you need other coding.

Even if your sentence was composed properly, I still don't think I would understand what you mean?

I wish to display the on/off info on a Blogger blogspot blog and a fortunecity.com website.

My website is written with HTML.

I appreciate your attempts to help jimhill, however, I would prefer to wait for someone who understands what I am asking to address this issue or has a knack for clearer communication to help me understand what I need to know.

Thank you.

May be your server has disabled "URL fopen wrappers". This setting can only be set in php.ini config file.

Check this, php.net/manual/en/filesystem.configuration.php#ini.allow-url-fopen

If you are still not able to get through then why dont you use other options like file_get_contents() or cURL or others.
