Only get PHP code on Index page - no HTML when I download file - Webmaster Forums - Webmaster forum for HTML, PHP, ASP, CSS and more

I'll admit guys - I don't know PHP...so I have a question. I'm more of a SEO guy and need a little help.

I ftp'd my client's index page down to work a little bit on the HTML and all I'm seeing is PHP code. She has articles that I can get to that is straight HTML (and CSS), but other pages like the index page is nothing but PHP. Just wondering why I can't see the index page as an HTML page.

HTML is generated by php file. So, if you look at the php you can see html tags like follow:
