Default PhpBB or XMB?

Which one do you use and which one do you recommend? XMB seems easier to use, with nice add-ons/hacks and such, but also easier to get hacked... PhpBB templates seem to be a pain, unlike XMB ones. But it's safer?

I've never heard of XMB, can you add a link? Does anyone use vbulletin or php? I'm in desperate need of a bulletin board that has no advertisements. Right now my forum has a huge ad that blocks you from even seeing the button to close it. It totally stinks. Thanks

Same, never heard of XMB but yea... phpBB is a great free board. If your looking to pay a nice chunk of change ( well worth it ) you could go for a vBulletin board

Never heard of XMB myself, I would recommend vBulletin if you want to pay, otherwise go with FUDForum (www.fudforum.org). I know one of the developers and the software is rock-solid and secure.

phpBB still has lots of problems and there seem to be constant exploits for out on there.

I would not use either myself, I would use SMF or MyBB.
I think both of these are much more secure, and user freindly forum scripts.
I myself have not heard of XMB before this post either, but I would never recomend phpbb to anyone.

Use IPB

I think phpBB is garbage and I don't know much about XMB.

oulzac: SMF sucks. :x
