Default help with the language

Are there any php books that people would use when they are starting to learn and code in php? Something that could be simple to get them kick started at programming the language.

w3schools is a great online teacher. That's where I learned HTML. I'm actually not sure if they have a good tutorial on PHP, but I think it is there somewhere.

w3schools is an excellent resource for tutorials and yes there PHP tutorial is great, it's not that big nor is it advanced but it's very basic and quick to learn.
