Loosing a session variable

Hi all.
I have a problem.

Im setting a session variable and then redirecting to a virual directory.

I can't see the session variable in the virtual directory however,

I can see the session variable in the root directory or others that are no0t virtual

Could some one please explain why thi smight be as it is a real pain.
