I personally prefer PHP since its free and also whenever I try to use ASP, I have Microsoft's mental image stamped all over it.

Sorry to go against the grain, I'm an ASP.NET programmer and I've got to say i prefer the quick deployment and time saving initiative in ASP.NET, it's made development incredibly easy.

So what you're saying, is that you're lazy, and don't like PHP because you actually have to do a little work for your money?

In response to the original question, however, I'm going to pick PHP, due to the ease of use, power, and how widespread it is. Finding hosts is easy, and since people have nearly always brought webhosting before the approach anyone for a custom programming job, it's a lot easier knowing the vast majority of hosts are going to already support PHP.
