SEO need PHP in some times. But SEO using some advanced developement tools like joomla,drupal, wordpress and some else..PHP is a part of that field..SEO friendly one is Drupal.. Most of them agree with this..

I'm not sure about PHP where html is the best code but you can still provide php code and I guess it can help a lot when it comes to be SEO friendly.

First try to do some paper work regarding logics of, they are almost same in all languages, this you to do for coding like ASP and PHP. Then it will be quite easy to move smoothly.
